How I Started Blogging

For me blogging was accidental thing. It was in 2004 end of December, the time  when SriLanka faced a huge disaster called Tsunami. By this time i have done my ALs and working as a volunteer in sarvodaya organization. Sarvodaya launched a project to help the victims of tsunami and i was appointed to keep a simple database of funds/donations received and delivered. Same time a person called indi (i remember him by his website it was indi.ca) was developing the sarvodaya web site as a volunteer. Those days i know nothing about web technologies and i was interested by observing how he developed the site. Then i too wanted to develop my own site and publish. Though i knew how to design  simple html pages i didn't know how to host and publish them. So i talked with him and asked how can i develop my own web site and publish and isn't there easy way to do this. He told me about the blogger.com and that was how i found blogger. For me it was a way to have a personal web page even though the usage of blogging was not that. Then i play n feel the features and look and feel of blogger and on mid night of 31 of December i published 2 3 pages about myself and some tsunami photos.When published blogger showed the page created date as 01/01/2005.
